How to Set a Secondary Password In-Game

Modified on Wed, 28 May at 2:00 PM

When entering the world of Ragnarok Online, one of the most important steps to keep your account safe is setting up your secondary password, also known as your Account PIN.

This password is made up of 4 numeric digits and appears on a clickable panel right after you log in with your email and password, and before you access your characters. If you’re using OTP authentication, the PIN will be requested after the OTP. It acts as an additional layer of protection for your account in-game.

Do not mistake it with the Kafra PIN!

Although they have similar names, the Account PIN is different from the Kafra PIN.

The Account PIN is used to access your characters after logging in, while the Kafra PIN is also numeric but used only to open your account storage in-game.
In short: they are two different security features with different purposes.

How to Create Your Secondary Password (PIN)

Follow these steps if it’s your first time accessing the game:

  1. Launch the game using the official launcher.

  2. Read and accept the End User License Agreement.

  3. Select the “Ragnarok Online” service.

  4. Log in using your GNJoy email and password.

  5. The first time you log in, the game will ask you to create your secondary password. You’ll see a clickable number panel.

  6. Click a sequence of 4 numeric digits to set your PIN.

  7. Confirm the password by clicking the same 4 digits again.

  8. Once confirmed, the system will ask for the same PIN again to complete login and access your characters.

How to Change Your Secondary Password (PIN)

If you already have a PIN and want to change it, follow these steps:

  1. After entering your email and password at login, on the PIN screen, click “Change”.
  2. Enter your current PIN.
  3. Click a new 4-digit sequence to create your new PIN.
  4. Confirm by clicking the same 4 digits again.

Done! Your new secondary password is now active.

Security Tips

  • Avoid obvious combinations like 1234 or 0000.
  • Never share your PIN with other players or third parties, even if they claim to be staff members.
  • Change your PIN periodically as an extra layer of protection.

With your secondary password enabled, your account becomes much more secure against unauthorized access.
Security is never too much — and you’ll be able to continue your adventure through Rune-Midgard with greater peace of mind!
